Project background

A contract to work on this map was offered by our partner with a similar island and educational focus, BessPress, Inc. They explained the need for a quality map of Guam for classroom use and asked 'Can you make it?' We turned to our cartographer, David Vann, and asked him 'Can you make it?'. David took up the project and over the final months of 2005 projected and designed this impressive map. He used ArcGIS software to manipulate public data and GIS coverages developed during his Master's degree studies on Guam and Adobe Illustrator for final design touches. The process much benefited from feedback and support by staff of BessPress, the publisher of this map.
